Clint is newcomer that fit in right away. He has a good work ethic and is enthusiastic to help the team anyway that he can. Clint plays tight end on offense where he has seen considerable time for a sophomore. He has also been a strong contributor in the special teams as he is on many of these units bringing an aggressive attitude to the field. Clint has also taken a great deal of pride in helping to prepare his team in many ways during practice. Clint will be a solid football player over the next couple of years.

Josh started to really come on strong by mid-season, when he was set back by injury. However, Josh demonstrated how good of a worker that he can be when he did everything possible to get himself healthy again. Josh shows the capability of becoming a quality running back/receiver as he runs well and does have good hands. The more confidence that Josh gains for himself the better he will become. We love the potential that Josh possesses and he has shown that when he is focused he can be a dangerous weapon.

Donny is well described as a big athlete. He has the size to be an offensive and defensive linemen, however he also has the agility and field awareness to play running back and linebacker, as well as the hands to play receiver. Donny seems to have an innate ability to know when and where a play is developing. His field presence is very good for a sophomore and he is only going to get better. Donny has had to bounce back from injury a couple of times this year. The most devastating of which left him wearing a cast for most of the season. This did not stop Donny as he continued to make plays despite the extra challenge.  As Donny gets faster he will become an even more effective weapon.

Cannon has always been eager to be involved in the game of football. Whether it is in the weight room, at practice, or in the game; Cannon gives his best effort. He is a coachable player who does his very best to accomplish whatever task that is challenged to him. Cannon is a fine young man and a pleasure to have on our team.

Cannon Lowe

Connor is an alert safety who seems to be developing his knack for finding the football. Connor does a good job of getting in position to make plays. Friday night, playing Cornerback, Connor made a great read and got a good jump on a pass into the endzone where he made a pick and ran it back to near midfield. We look forward to many more big plays from Connor through the next couple of years.

Connor McClure

Sam is a big, athletic, linemen with the talent to be physically dominant. Sam is versatile enough to play any position along the offensive and defensive lines. There are times when Sam is capable of being virtually unblockable while on Defense. The potential that Sam possesses is phenomenal. It is very possible that after another off-season of lifting and conditioning (which Sam can be very good at), and a strong pre-season of practice, Sam could become one of the most dominant players in the OHC.

Week 8, 8 - 12 Oct 07 (Go Back)

Brett is new to high school football this year. To see him play Friday night you would not have known this. He uses good technique when both blocking and tackling as he demonstrated with his play at Tight End and on the Special Teams. Brett has proven to be a very good worker and a quick learner. As he lifts and gains size and strength through the off-season he will only get better. Brett is a sophomore with an exciting future.

Josh brings intensity and attitude to our offensive line. He has a toughness and energy about him that sets a tone for how our offensive line comes to play. Josh is constantly hustling downfield to make blocks. Defenders do not want to be standing around while a play is going on because Josh will find them as he leads the team in “ticket-taker” blocks. He is a clean player that plays hard and through the whistle. This is something we preach everyday and need more players to demonstrate.

Josh Lilley

Kris is a young player with a lot of talent. He has been earning his place on Friday nights through the special teams, where he has had many bright moments. Though a freshmen Kris has already secured his first touchdown pass of his high school career on a “razzle dazzle” play against Northwestern. This young man is very competitive and it has shown to be a good tool for him on Defensive Scout Team and on Special Teams. We are optimistic that after an off-season of weight training and conditioning Kris will flourish into a top notch varsity football player as early as next year.

Week 7, 1 - 5 Oct 07 (Go Back)

Kyle came to our first meeting last December. He immediately began demonstrating a great desire to learn the game as he regularly attended lifting sessions. Kyle has worked very hard in the weight room and in conditioning sessions, at camps and 7 on 7's. I remember seeing Kyle riding his bike to the weight room even during very cold winter evenings. Kyle works very hard during practice and games to improve and give his very best to the efforts of the team. Kyle is earning more and more Friday night responsibility. Kyle has made great improvement all year and we look forward to his continued success and earned playing time.

Eddie is the type of young man who can earn this award every week. Every single practice, lifting/conditioning session, camp, meeting, Eddie gives a full-on 100%. Eddie sets the ideal example of how to give your very best effort in everything you do.  Friday night, Eddie exemplified his 100% attitude by making a key block to spring a long touchdown run by a teammate. He then sprinted downfield and around players to again throw a final key block to guarantee safe passage to a long TD! In the 16 years that I have been involved with Varsity football Eddie is the only Sophomore that I have known to earn so much respect of his teammates as to be named "Captain". This alone should speak volumes of his character and ability. He is now a two year captain who has the absolute respect of his teammates and coaches.

Week 6, 24 - 28 Sep 07  (Go Back)

Isaiah has been a tough aggressive worker all season. He is a freshmen who knows the meaning of hard work and dedication. Isaiah started the season at fullback but asked to switch to the offensive line when he saw that we were getting some injuries there and that is where he was needed. He has also had to play through some pain as injuries have not kept him off of the field. "We love Isaiah's work ethic and toughness. He's a good football player who works hard to get better everyday".

ISAIAH McADAMS

Seth has earned his title as a team Captain and continues to do so on a daily basis. Three years ago Seth was a Wide Receiver. Two years ago Seth was asked to play Offensive Line. His immediate response was "Really? Center?" and then he gave an enthusiastic Whatever the team needs me to do type of response. He is Intelligent (Harvard's Football Coach has called about Seth and sent him letters) and very hard working. A young man who always seems to have the right things to say to his team mates. Seth is Mr. Reliability as he also has multiple roles on the defense and special teams. He has not missed a play due to injury in the time that we have known him. Seth is now and will be throughout his life, a great success. We are lucky to have such a leader in our program!

SETH VAN ZANT

Week 5, 17 Sep - 21 Sep 07 (Go Back)

"PICTURE"

Ethan is an intelligent rangy athlete who is able to play quarterback, and athletic enough to play wide receiver. Currently in our offense Ethan plays tight end as well. Ethan also has been earning time on Special Teams. Ethan is a true team player as he sets out to play and do whatever is needed of him by the team. Aside from his regular positions he is also running our Scout team as Quarterback and Specializing as opposing teams’ best wide receiver. Ethan is a fine young man and football player.

ETHAN SCOTT

TJ has been recognized as a fiery aggressive player by every member of our staff and team. TJ is a young man who pours everything he as into his play and practice. Whether he is running the ball on offense, defending pass or stopping the run on defense; TJ comes at you with everything he’s got. This is a credit to his work ethic. TJ’s efforts are earning him positions on the Special Teams where he is playing with reckless abandon.

T.J. SCOTT

Josh is a tough, smart football player who is helping to anchor a vastly improved defense. Whether Josh is playing defensive or offensive line, he is always bringing his “A” game. Josh understands the concepts of what is trying to be accomplished and he plays through aches, pains, and strains. Josh hasn’t missed very much playing time in games or practice due to injury. Josh is a very good football player with a great attitude who is certainly capable of playing at the next level if he so desires. He is also a fine young man whom one mother of a youth football player recently advised me that “Josh is [her] son’s favorite football player” she went on to say “he wouldn’t stop talking about Josh the entire way home”. Josh is the kind of person we want young men to model themselves after.

JOSH REYNOLDS

Week 4, 10 Sep - 14 Sep 07 (Go Back)

"PICTURE"

Ryan dedicated himself completely to the Greeneview football program as soon as he decided to play this past off-season. Ryan was in the weight room with seemingly every chance that he had. Ryan works very hard and is a quick learner.  He understands the goals and focus of the team and he strives to achieve these team goals. Friday night was another example of Ryan's dedication as he played through pain after receiving clearance from the Doctor.

RYAN JENKS

Blake has had a couple of very nice games this season. However, Friday night he fought for some very tough yards. Blake is running the ball with a physical style. His hard-nosed running style has caused him to get banged up but not knocked out. Blake has proved to be very tough physically as he played through some pain on Friday night. Blake continues to improve each week.

BLAKE BENEDICT

"PICTURE"

Charlie pushes himself as hard as he can in everything that he does. After being cleared to practice again last week Charlie began each practice by leading his group in almost every sprint. Charlie eagerly plays offensive and defensive line as a part of the scout team. As this young man practices with tenacity both he and his team mates are getting much better on the line. Keep an eye on this Freshmen as he is going to be a fine football player in Jamestown for the next few years

CHARLIE ROBERTS

Week 3, 3 Sep - 7 Sep 07 (Go Back)

Derek has been making strong improvement every week. He is a young player with a strong work ethic. In practice he gives everything he has with great enthusiasm. In his last game Derek stood out, sacking the quarterback, blocking kicks and doing his best to help anchor an offensive line that is going through some injury battles right now.

DEREK McCLURE

"PICTURE"

Mike has always gone "all-out" in games. This year, Mike is an "all-out" guy in practice as well. His tireless efforts in practice are paying off for him and the team in games as well. We are playing a much better brand of physical football because of efforts like that of Mike Eavers. Mike's fiercely competitive nature is starting to impact the team in a positive way.

MIKE EAVERS

Jordan moved into the district in the off-season. His impact has been tremendous and the respect that he has earned from his teammates has been amazing. Aside from being voted as a captain by his teammates he has gone on to play through pain almost daily without as much as asking for a play off in practice. Jordan helps to spearhead an offensive line that is designed to punish defenses through brute force. He also is a defensive player who is quick and explosive enough to be one of the best defensive lineman in the OHC. However, he is also alert and aggressive enough to be one of the best Linebackers as well.

JORDAN BLAIR

Week 2, 27 - 31 Aug 07 (Go Back)

"PICTURE"

Tony exemplified toughness by playing through the pain of having his middle finger severely cut. Tony never once allowed this injury to affect his play during the yellow springs game. In fact, the player Tony was responsible for blocking was driven backwards 3-5 yards after almost every single play. Tony has always been a tough football player. However, This past Friday Tony played his best game under the toughest conditions he has had to face.

TONY JORDAN

"PICTURE"

Tom Sandy battled through illness the entire week. Tom battled through a temperature and physical illness, to practice all week and play in a game where Greeneview's defense gave up a mere 60 yards of offense. Tom has shown toughness all year playing through various pain. He is a focused competitor who comes to play everyday.

TOM SANDY

"PICTURE"

Patrick has earned the respect of his coaches and team by his hardwork and his desire to never come off the field be it a game or practice. Though only a freshmen, Patrick has practiced and played with the effort and attitude of an older player. Patrick is constantly hustling on both the Defensive and Offensive Line during practice and JV games.

PATRICK PENEWIT

Week 1, 20 - 24 Aug 07 (Go Back)

"PICTURE"

Tyler shown great hustle and intensity. All week in practice Tyler was doing "Whatever it Takes" to make him and his teammates better.

"TC" TYLER CAUDILL

"PICTURE"

"Curly" Ryan Moore was flying all over the field, setting great pursuit angles and tracking guys down from across the field. Ryan played hurt the last half of the game but it never showed in his effort or performance. Ryan was out there all game long doing "Whatever it Takes" to be successful.
